Forged with Purpose: The Evolution of High Angle Tactical

High Angle Tactical LLC was born out of necessity. After years in the military, law enforcement, and as a police academy instructor, I saw a critical gap in accessible, high-quality training for patrol officers and tactical teams. There were plenty of off-the-shelf training courses—but few that truly emphasized adaptable decision-making under stress, grounded in sound tactics and safety-first principles.

The concept was simple: deliver training that matters. Training built on real-world experience. Training that mirrors the complexity of today’s operational threats while reinforcing discipline, tactical clarity, and practical application.

But High Angle Tactical wasn’t my first venture. I also own High Angle Gun Works Inc., a small firearms shop specializing in gunsmithing, NFA items, and custom Kydex holsters. By day, I serve as a law enforcement instructor at a CTE school, preparing future professionals for careers in public safety. It was in that role that I met Noah, a patrol deputy with a shared mindset and passion for tactical instruction.

After co-teaching courses like Active Shooter Response and Night Vision Team Tactics, we realized two things:

1. How much we enjoyed teaching together, and

2. The severe lack of tactical training opportunities near Bangor for working officers to sharpen their edge.

That’s when High Angle Tactical moved from concept to execution.

Why “High Angle”?

The name is a tribute to my time in the U.S. Army as an Indirect Fire Infantryman. Our primary weapon—the mortar—is designed for high-angle attack, delivering devastating indirect fire to soften enemy positions before the infantry moves in.
