"Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood." -Acts 20:28 (ESV) The Shield of Faith course is a two-day, hands-on training program designed to equip church safety teams, leaders, and prepared congregants with the critical skills needed to prevent, respond to, and recover from violent incidents in places of worship. Blending tactical instruction with faith-based preparedness, this course focuses on proactive threat recognition, effective team coordination, emergency medical response, and scenario-based active shooter training. Participants will engage in immersive practical exercises, live simulations, and receive professional instruction from experienced law enforcement and tactical instructors. Each student will leave with increased confidence, a clear role in a coordinated response plan, and a High Angle Tactical IFAK to support emergency preparedness. Topics Covered: Threat recognition and de-escalation Team roles and communication under stress Lockdown, evacuation, and response options Tactical emergency casualty care (TECC principles) Use of cover, concealment, and safe congregation movement Legal considerations and liability protection Course Format: 2 Days (16 hours total) Interactive classroom instruction Scenario-based practicals and force-on-force simulations Includes one High Angle Tactical IFAK per participant Target Audience: Church security teams, pastors, ushers, greeters, safety volunteers, and any congregant with a desire to protect their place of worship.
