Why We Run What We Sell — A Hard-Earned Perspective on Gear That Works

In the line of work where failure is not an option, gear is more than just equipment—it’s trust. Trust built over time, under pressure, and sometimes under fire.
I’ve walked this line for over two decades—as an Army infantryman, a federal police officer, a member of a Response Team, and now as an instructor. I’ve carried a ruck through far-off terrain, cleared rooms in tight quarters, and trained the next generation of those who stand between chaos and order.
When we started High Angle Tactical, we didn’t jump on trends. We stuck with what we knew worked—because we’ve lived with this gear, sweat in it, bled on it, and depended on it when there were no second chances.
Built to Perform, Not Just to Impress
Let me be clear: We don’t offer products because they look cool on Instagram. We offer them because we’ve put them through hell—and they held up.

Take my Kore Essentials 1.5” EDC belt. I wear it every single day. Whether I was carrying on duty or working in plain clothes, that belt held fast without sag, twist, or slip. It blends into daily wear but doesn’t flinch when you load it up.
Esstac magazine pouches and inserts have been part of my kit for over 10 years. Moving with a team or teaching recruits, their retention, speed, and durability have never let me down. When I pop on my carrier or grab my first line belt for a course or call-out, I know exactly where my mags will be—and that they’ll stay put until I need them.

I’ve trained, taught, and fought in Born Primitive clothing—from their rugged joggers to their performance tops. On the range, in the gym, or working long hours on my feet, they’ve held up. Not just once. Every time.
And every day, there’s a Toor Knife either clipped in my pocket or strapped to my plate carrier. Tools like that aren’t just backups—they’re lifelines. I’ve used them to cut rope, open gear, and if needed, defend life.
We Try It Before You Buy It
At High Angle Tactical, every brand we carry has been used, tested, and trusted by our instructors. We’re not a warehouse pushing products—we’re a team of professionals who know the job and understand what works when everything’s on the line.
If we sell it, it’s because it’s been proven—in the field, in the dark, in the cold, when it mattered.
The Bottom Line
Gear won’t make you a better operator—but bad gear will absolutely make your job harder. We’ve seen the difference that the right gear makes. In comfort. In confidence. In survival.

So when we say we believe in what we carry—it’s because we’ve lived it. We invite you to gear up with the same brands we trust:
• Kore Essentials – Everyday carry belts that actually support your EDC.
• Esstac – Mag pouches that deliver under pressure.
• Born Primitive – Clothing built for work, not just workouts.
• Toor Knives – American-made blades that don’t back down.
We’re not here to sell you gear you don’t need. We’re here to equip you with what works—because your job, your safety, and your life depend on it.
